I want to build an EDH deck

Clint was offering you some advice. He was telling you that if you play Teeg you will die right away. If I saw Teeg as your general I would be targeting you the whole game.

I know that you can't have any colors in your deck that aren't your generals colors, but can i play a misty rainforest even if my general is green but isn't blue?

Yes you can have cards that mention other land types than those you can use. For example, mono green can play any of the fetch lands, even flooded strand, but you wouldn't be able to search out a Temple garden, because temple garden's text has a white mana symbol in it (As do all plains). Hope that answers your question.

Buck you would be targeting me the entire game anyway whether i play teeg or not. Clint isn't even reading the forums and is posting stuff that has already been.

Kurt, kurt, kurt....... look if you what to play tegg go a head play him, all im telling you is you are a target right off the bat. for example if im playing Jake (Blindseer), Ryan (Joriha) and Tyler (Teferi) and me (W. Akroma) going for ryan simply because he can blow the whole board away and im not going to back on Tyler deck to counter every thing Ryan plays. Thats all im saying if tegg was just in the deck then i would care less because there are few ways to bring him back in G/W. if you what to play him go ahead just be ward im going after tegg every time i see him and who ever plays him more then once. but if you if you most try a green white weenie beat down deck because tegg locks ou i belive all wrath effects and there is good creature in green for example Survial of the Fittest summers pact congress a dawn and i guess tou get T-gof.

If it makes a differenct, I would go for a Teeg player before anyone else at the table. Getting locked is not fun. After that I would go for a Jhoira or Zur player because Obliterate is disgusting with her and Zur just gets ridiculous. I've wanted to try mono-blue with Teferi for awhile though, even if he is annoying.

T-goyf would be really cool, i want to play it control and hopefully i can protect teeg and myself long enough to get some lock down going.

Have you even been looking at cards that meet the criteria for a teeg deck? I"m curious to see where you take this deck.

I haven't really, i wanted to take it in a way that i fogged for a while before gaddock died and i could start playing my mass removal and token generators, but i have no idea how to play edh or how to build an edh deck, what's a good site i could look up to try to find some hints?

I'm not sure there are any really great sites for it, but you can check the EDH thread on MTGsalvation.com which will at least give you a list of the best edh cards by color. Its a great place to start.

A couple more ideas would be auras or enchantments that will protect your Teeg.

Aspect of the Mongoose would be great along with perhaps Favorable Destiny. A privledged Position dropped before your general would give your opponents another hoop to jump through before being able to take out Teeg. Mark of Asylum would protect him along with your tokens from cheaper threats like Pyroclasm, Fallout & Firespout.

@Ryan: I said not that many you know. And although the generals are good, they still won't really compare to something like Jhoria or Teferi in terms of power or control. White does have the benefit of WoG, Armageddon, Catastrophe, Cataclysm, Akroma's Vengence, and many other mass removal effects, but its hindered by the fact that its in response things are generally damage prevention, life gain, or some such. Each mono-colored deck can be successful, but i guess i'm personally not impressed with white's offerings.
