| so i've been thinking about posting a short series about current standard deck building theory. i know some of the group has wanted to do something like a deck building clinic of sorts, in order to get feedback on ideas, tips on how to build mana bases, and stuff. i do have some thoughts put together about control deck building at the moment and am in the process of following up that data/ideas with some thoughts on aggro. however, its usually at this point that i find myself thinking "who the hell cares?" so, for the sake of discussion, is maybe something other people would be interested in? it would probably end up being like a big nerd symposium of sorts. i have alot of accumulated data and analysis of said data, so i am kind of curious about other people's feedback on the conclusions i'm drawing. its also an attempt on my part to start to steal all of your ideas... i mean, encourage other people to think about sharing their thoughts about the game and stuff. or you know, i can just shut the f.uck up... | |

| well then, dan, i'll start to get the thoughts i have together in a cogent order. dan, it would be great if you could put together some thoughts on jund/playing midrange aggro in the future, as well. these seem like they'll continue to be a part of the meta, especially in the face of faster and faster aggro decks like rdw and mono white.
jake, if you get a chance, could you send me your current naya/or former jund control lists. i really feel like they typify something that is a powerfully viable control archetype without the near obsessive/compulsive reliance on blue. either list or both lists would be fine.
it would be great if people who have the time had the opportunity to do these kinds of analyses, as well. alot of the aggro decks are kind of canned and set in stone at the moment but there's always room for creative improvement, budgetary compensations, and roguey-type card suggestions. i'd also like to see some people who are still working on getting used to deck building start to post more but i understand if they don't wanna. | |

| I thoroughly enjoy talking about deck building and theory. Most of the decks right now, especially the aggro decks, are somewhat set in stone. The only somewhat offhand cards I had in the Jund deck that I top 8'ed states with were two Hell's Thunders which were fantastic for me all day( I won two or three games simply off being able to get the last 8 damage in with the Thunder). It'll be fun to discuss this with you guys in a few days when I get home! | |
