| Spent some time reading this, and the conclusion is, no one knows how it works. Do you always get the associated werewolf card with your boosters? are they split cards? Printed on the back? I heard so many shitty ideas i was about to puke. In the end, in order to print these at common and uncommon as well as at rare, you almost just have to suck it up and print them as tokens or as completely optional "throw ins" in place of the basic land. The last option of course being a holographic card where when the light is dark enough, you only see the "night" part of the card, and if its bright, you only see the "day" side. | |

| I'm not happy about it either. I absolutely hate flip cards, but I would rather have them done that again, removing some of the text. I feel like this was a poor move by wizards. | |

| "Creatures with transform do not have a face down form, and cannot be turned face down."
Ixidron was specifically mentioned as not interacting with these cards in any way.

| also, i mentioned cracked a joke in a different post about "diligent farmhand" being in innistrad and just realized something: this just might end up being odyssey 2.0. a set built around a bunch of mechanics too confusing, underwhelming, or annoying for players to like it. bated breath. | |

Ixidron was specifically mentioned as not interacting with these cards in any way. I kind of guessed that was the case. You didn't even laugh at my sarcasm, Jake. So, to fix that, a quote: "I'll have to see it first, but... I can't imagine any way this is anything but "HERP DERP LET'S MAKE A 5 ABILITIES PLANESWALKER BECAUSE WE'VE HAD 4 BEFORE"'

| Opinions on Garruk??? I feel that he is really good. He can wear a lot of different hats, which I think makes him good. I only think 1/1 wolves are lame. | |

| tutor is good. IS... reusable tutors.... Great.
Tutors are probably the most powerful mechanic in the game. Ask Stoneforge, she'll agree.

Tutors are probably the most powerful mechanic in the game. Ask Stoneforge, she'll agree. it takes so many damned steps to get him there, though. step one: cast him (aw... did he get mana leaked again!? sorry, buddy...) step two: somehow reduce his loyalty counters to less than 3 without killing him (so, maybe you hit him with your own guy, in which instance, you've just killed your blocking creature. otherwise, it takes... i don't know two or three turns to get him there.) step three: sacrifice another creature you control to find one worth more than a creature on the battlefield. i just don't personally want to mess with that. i'd be just as content playing diabolic tutor at that point.

| Don't be such a Negative Nance. 1) Dies to removal... got it. 2) Chump Slayer or Wolf Layer 3) TUTOR He's doing all that by himself while you continue to play spells n shit. PW are nothing but card advantage... every turn. And he blocks primal hunter! Wins are abundant with this card. BTW... do you think there's a chance we'll see a Momentary Blink return to action in this set?!?!? | |

BTW... do you think there's a chance we'll see a Momentary Blink return to action in this set?!?!? lol. hardly a negative nancy. 1) flipping him is going to be more difficult than i want it to be. 2) none of his abilities are remotely interesting to me. 3) bueller...

| Yeah... I'm not gonna play him either. Not blue-white enough. I'll stick with my 5 mana PWs | |

| I'm not sure if we've discussed this topic yet. How do people feel about the concept of splashable planeswalkers? To date, Chandra the Firebrand and Garruk Relentless are the first one colored mana planeswalkers. Is this even relevant? My fear is always that a planeswalker turns into Jace, the Mind Sculptor and goes on to define and break a format. If one of these splashable planeswalkers breaks a format is it better that every deck will essentially have access to it, or worse? | |

i think that the difference moving forward is WoTC will mostly try to keep basic answers to planeswalkers like oblivion ring around. and they seem to be tempering that with the one-cost walker's ultimates being underwhelming. to date, jake faas is the only person i know who has put chandra to good use. i've tried her in grixis lists and things and she's just not been that devastating. the thing with jace i really believe was the brainstorm/fateseal stuff. other kinds of card advantage that planeswalkers provide are great... card drawing and library manipulation on the order of JTMS was inevitability. i think that's going to be the difference but i'm willing to be wrong about that.

| I see Garruk contributing to green/blue quite well because of his one colored mana. Garruk is also removal in a color that usually lacks it. I think the direction that wotc has decided to go with planeswalkers SINCE JTMS is very good. Generally linear with a very clear focus on what you will be doing with them, they don't want to have planeswalkers that are one-card answers to entire strategies. We can all agree that Jace was Wotc being naive since they had never printed an OP or dare i say broken planeswalker, so they didn't know when to stop. with elspeth, it was a little shaky, but at least she didn't have four abilities, and her strategy was pretty linear as well. I think new garruk will be used primarily for the kill secondarily to produce death touch wolves, both of which are great uses for him. | |
