Domain (AKA the REAL 5CC)

So i'm trying to make this deck work. Some stipulations:
I don't want heavy single mana requirements, ie nothing with more than two mana symbols of any one color in its mana cost.
I want to utilize the fetches.
I'm wondering if the deck should be ramp based, or rely more on exploding borders and fetches to fix for what you need.
I don't want any CiPT lands. NONE! Terramorphic being the sole exception.
I don't want nonbasics other than lands that can search out basics.

I'm very open with suggestion on how to make this deck. My main concern is not having DoJ in the deck, as i don't really see myself having the two white on fourth turn. It could be in my deck as a two of, but that would be the extent i would take it. I tried this deck at the last fnm that was standard, and it finished 2-2. I'm not really impressed with a finish like that, so i want to know what i can use to improve the consistancy. I think planeswalkers will be essential to the deck, playing 4 ajani, and one Bolas at least. After that, i'd say my next contestant would be Chandra Nalar. Give me some suggestions please!

I think that ramp would be the way to go. Just curious, which domain cards are you using? I think that matca riots could be really cool in a domain deck, and that voices from the void would be a good control card. That being said i think the deck could go into some really cool hand disruption, focusing a little more on black than the rest of the colors, using cards like blightning, voices from the void, maybe mind sludge, duress, but i'm not to sure how those things work in the domain decks and i might be pulling everything away from the domain. I like the idea of making your opponent discard and using rise from the grave to steal there big creatures. I think it would be helpful if you posted the deck that you played last time.

Anyway it was creatureless and needless to say i thought it would stand up to aggro, but it didn't. Anyway it saddened me. I want better results. Tell me what to do kurt!

Right Jake, i'm the guy to ask haha. I would try to take it hand disruption i think. I really like that you played voices from the void. I would play Matca Rioters and Nyxythid maybe just so you have some board presence that isn't necessarily killed by your mass removal. I love ajani vengeant i really do, so keeping him in would be nice, but less plains probably keep things ok, taking 1 out for another swamp or something. Playing 4 harrows and 2 rampant growth could help you speed things up a little bit. I would consider taking out the obelisk, a pyroclasm, and a resounding thunder or something to throw in at least three blightnings. 4 Ajani's could almost be too much, but it depends on which ability you want to utilized, if you want the lightning helix then maybe you should play 4 because he likes to die with only 1 counter on him. What do you think?

How about fogs to hold off aggro while you build your domain.

sooo you built a landfall deck with no landfall???

i don't get all the ramp there.you cast nothing that stays on the board with your mana you just use it in a huge one turn spell that if they held back some gas they can come back if you don't/can't find another big spell to cast on there board.

i don't see a solid win con.

LOL! I agree, i think that you need some creature presence to keep things in control and try to do some damage earlier in the game

I think Wall of Denial, Angelsong, Knight Captain, and even though he eats Path, Sphinx of Steel Wind is a solid win con. There isn't much else that kills him. Jund isn't going to be running Path, so he will own against that. Vamps is running Gatekeeper, but the Wall of Denials or Knight Captain soldier tokens can be fodder for that. I personally like the Sphinx. He single handedly beat me in a game that I was owning because I didn't have a good answer.

I'm running a Sphinx in my 5CC sideboard and he gets though hemorrhaged all the time. But she should still be played, she's good. Every card has an answer i guess.

I'm probably going to go in that direction to utilize wall of denial. I'm most likely going to put path in this version, but i will probably skip angelsong, though i may put in knight captain. I'm going to avoid baneslayer in the maindeck for now, but the sphinx is definately worth looking into. I still will keep Lavalanche in the main deck, and Lightning bolt may become blightning or i might leave it, i'll have to see. I'll just need to pick up a few games on friday with it and see.
